What is a cake ball?

A cake ball is really just a truffle made out of cake crumbs and cream cheese frosting. Then dipped in melted chocolate and topped with sprinkles.

Cake balls dipped in white chocolate and red colored chocolate with festive sprinkles on top placed on a baking sheet to dry.

Recipe Tips

    • You can use any flavor cake.
    • Rolling the balls into 1 1/2 inches (I use this cookie scoop) you should get 35-40 balls. You can make them larger or smaller
    • Cake balls are typically dipped in chocolate using melting wafers.
    • Placing your cake balls in the freezer gives them a proper chill before you dip them.
    • Throw uncoated cake balls in the freezer until ready to coat into melted chocolate.
